Dermaplaning Facial
Dermaplaning is a manual exfoliation technique to remove the dead cells and fine hairs (peach fuzz) from the skin’s surface with a exfoliating tool, moving slowly across the face.
The build-up of dead skin cells can make for a ‘dull’ complexion and encourage breakouts (from clogged pores and blocked hair follicles). By removing the outer most layers of dead skin cells, the skin is left immediately smooth, supple and vibrant. It is a non-traumatic method of skin rejuvenation. It is a simple and safe procedure for exfoliating the skin and ridding the skin of fine vellus hair (peach fuzz). Do not be concerned that the hair will grow back heavier and darker after Dermaplaning; this is not the case.
Dermaplaning is most often used on clients with fine lines and wrinkles, rough, dry skin, superficial hyper pigmentation, mild acne scarring but is not suitable for active acne. The treatment results in a more refined, smooth, “glowing” appearance.
After this exfoliation we will apply serum and moisturiser for your skin type. Removing epidermal skin also allows products to penetrate more readily into the deeper layers. This is the ultimate in facial treatments giving you younger, healthier skin, ideal before a special event as makeup glides on smoother leaving you photo ready.
Dermaplaning is suitable for most skin types, even those with sun damage, fine lines or very dry skin and dull skin. It is not recommended however if you have an inflamed skin condition, such as active acne. Dermaplaning can however be used to reduce the appearance of acne scars once your skin has healed.
Pre and Post Care
It is not advisable to have this treatment within 7 days of microderabrasion, 24 hours of exfoliation or if you have hypersensitive skin.
As with many skin care treatments, you will need to wear a high SPF afterwards to protect your skin from the sun as it will be especially sensitive to UV damage, and it is not advisable to use any exfoliating products for at least one week after the final professional treatment.
