At Addlestone Therapy our experts offer a range of waxing to meet different individual’s requirements. For larger waxing areas, legs, arms, back, chest and shoulders, we use strip wax.
For intimate areas we use hot wax, which is spread thickly onto the skin and allowed to dry slightly before it is gently peeled away. This method is far less painful than most and pulls hair directly from the roots. The benefits include fewer in-grown hairs, less breakage and therefore longer re-growth periods. This wax also promotes skin hydration and is highly recommended for sensitive areas.
Bikini Waxing Styles:
- Regular Bikini
Removes the hair outside the bikini line. - High Bikini
Takes the sides of the bikini line deeper than a regular bikini wax, and can also include waxing some hair on top to make a more defined ‘triangle’ area. - Brazilian waxing
Brazilian waxing is very popular these days. It is where all the hair is removed from the pubic area except a vertical ‘landing strip’ or small triangle at the front. - Hollywood wax
Whilst a Brazilian wax will leave you with some hair, a Hollywood wax removes all of it. A Hollywood wax is for ladies who absolutely don’t want any hair in the front, in-between or in the back.

Waxing Tips and Tricks
Here are some tips and tricks that may help you with your waxing experience.
- Avoid using beauty products on the newly waxed area (for 24 hours after the waxing). As the ingredients within the product could react with the delicate skin pores and cause irritation.
- After waxing, it is recommended that loose fitting clothing is worn to prevent rubbing or irritation to the area that has been waxed.
- Regularly exfoliate using a body scrub to reduce the risk of ingrown hairs occurring.
Take note of these Brazilian/Hollywood waxing tips, so you can get and keep great results. The best antidote to the pain of waxing is try to relax, when you are tense, the follicle closes and the wax doesn’t reach the root of the hair. The more often you get a wax treatment, the more accustomed you will grow to the experience. Your skin is often more sensitive the time near your period and waxing can be more painful than normal. Shower and lightly exfoliate your entire bikini area right before your appointment using warm and not hot water. Do not use body lotion/ cream or oils on your skin prior your waxing. You will need some hair growth for the wax to hold onto; for Brazilian and Hollywood waxing the hair needs to be a minimum of 5mm long but ideally not too long, 1 cm is ideal. Keep your hands always from touching freshly waxed skin, as this can encourage irritation or small pimples. After your first Brazilian or Hollywood wax the area can be slightly red and inflamed, it is recommended that aloe vera gel is applied to the area for approximately 2 days afterwards. No tanning beds, for two days.
